First week over and it’s gone unbelievably fast, I’ve done so many things and it’s been a really good week which I’ve enjoyed very much! There’ve been lot’s of customers in today and I’ve learnt about how to hire out costumes and filling in the forms, I’ve also sorted some CD’s for a disco and cleaned some gold boots that were returned. I’m really looking forward to coming back for my second week!

First thing I did this morning was sorting out some of the masks at the back of the shop, they’re all beautiful and really fun to organise. For most of the rest of the day I’ve been designing some banners, that are now on the website on in the “Jessamine Collection” and I have one to take home! The weeks been going really fast and I’m enjoing it alot, will miss Leigh though!

I’ve just added a tube station section to the hire costume section, which is really good beause it’s sort of like what I’m doing at school. All the costume ideas are linked to stations and some of the ideas are really cool! I’ve also done some more costume returns and packed away some more 1970’s boots. There’s been quite alot of people in today and it’s nice hearing about the parties they’re going to and the costumes they want. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow, because I get to design some ribbon banners!

Second day today and it’s gone quite quick! I’ve cleaned some fantastic 1970’s silver glitter boots, inflated some helium balloons, signed for a delivery, priced everything inside. I also put away and organised lots of colourful ribbons in a cupboard and ironed and put away some more amazing 1970’s Abba costumes that have been returned. I’ve just leant how to use a personalised ribbon banner maker and designed a mother’s day banner thats now in the window, I also got to make a ribbon banner with my name and some pictures on, which I’m taking home! I also got a free donut. Yet another really amazing day!

Hi I’m Jess, today I had my first day of my year 10 work experience here at Haveaballoon. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect this morning when I came in, but I was really excited! There are lot’s of really amazing costumes around this shop and it’s really bright and colourful. I helped with several costume returns this morning and I ironed and put away some fantastic costumes, really putting me in the mood to go to a fancy dress party! After lunch I cleared out an old window display and used the helium pump to blow up some mothers day balloons and put ribbons on which was really fun, then we made the feature balloon (the big one in the middle) and it looks amazing! I’ve had a really good day and everyone one here’s been so friendly and nice, I’m really looking forward to tomorrow!
